Guys, Is a girl's makeup really a draw for you -- does it impact how attractive/sexy you think she is?

While I'm all for looking pretty -- for myself but also sometimes for my guy -- I feel like a lot of girls miss the mark when it comes to makeup.

Some of you have read my questions about the fake nails and lashes... please bear with me bc I honestly am such a minimalist when it comes to makeup for so many reasons, the two main ones being a healthy personal skin regimen... and the second being that if my man wants to kiss or touch me I don't think he needs to make contact with a layer of goo and powder. 😂 😂 😂)

BRING IT! A girl should have a full face of makeup daily (including fake sculpting, contouring, glitter, etc. etc.). The more the better.

Semi Glam (usually used for evenings out or special occasions).

Makeup is ok, but a very minimal natural look. Nothing fake or flashy. My girl's natural beauty should shine through.

No Makeup!!! (Not another sticky lipgloss! Uuuuugh! 🙅🏻‍♂️ 🙅🏻‍♂️ 🙅🏻‍♂️)

I have always disliked anything fake. Makeup, fake nails, nail polish, cosmetic surgery, etc. to the point that I wish none of them were even invented.

Don't get me wrong... some people aren't born winning the genetic lottery and could benefit from a touch of it, but even then it's not needed to the extent that it's used in the west nowadays.

For example, in this video, I find the countries that seem to prefer natural beauty, natural looking makeup, petite and slim/slender figures tend to be the most attractive. Those countries tend to be European countries.

It can definitely be a draw, however it can also be a deterrent 😅 it really comes down to how she uses it, and more importantly how much.


Reason being is because despite not being a girl I know a good amount about girl stuff because my sister and mom as well as women I’ve dated educated me on a lot of things women do and use.


That being said I know there are many makeup products that are in fact harmful to the skin, which makes sense because I often have seen women’s faces somewhat puffy and pinkish or red when they wind down for the day and take the makeup off.




I was much younger the first time I saw this and thought to myself “why do women subject themselves to this?”

I’m gonna share a personal story that is actually kind of sad.

My sister only had one boyfriend out of High school. After that she devoted her life to school and herself.

She completed her masters in her late 20’s and immediately began pursuing her doctorate. The school she went to went bankrupt and just like that she was up shits creek without a paddle.

Up until this point my sister never did what the majority of women do.
(She never did her nails, never did her hair, never wore makeup)

My sister isn’t ugly. But due to not doing those things above it’s as if she was never noticed by guys..

It wasn’t until she reached 32 where she started putting on makeup and it hurt me because I saw my sister being a grown woman and was doing the thing that a young teenage female would. Trying out what works for her. Thing is… it’s kind of too late.

My brother and I talked about this whole thing, and we both agreed that she has seen our other female relatives with little kids and how she behaves with the kids, it’s apparent my sister wants kids and a husband but… I don't know. There’s nothing I could do as her brother to help her. I gave her tips though on how to spot a player since I used to be one.

Actually, I’m in the “no time for makeup” boat as well bc of work/school. I’d she’s pretty on her own she doesn’t NEED a lot of makeup… just natural sun-kissed look and a good hairstyle should do the trick. A wardrobe spruce is also a good idea.

I agree. I always told her “you gotta start doing your hair” but she’s stubborn. I cannot say I tried, so that’s not on my guilty conscience

Hmm... I'll tell you a makeup story from when I was a kid...

The first one is when I was really little and we sat at a restaurant table right next to an old woman COVERED in makeup. I was maybe four, so I remember the lady but not the full conversation... Mama says I embarrassed her by staring at the woman and when she said hello to me I said hello back and asked her why she has all that stuff on her face?

The old woman laughed but mama looked like she was going to pass out and immediately reprimanded me. The lady told mama to pipe down and asked me why I asked her that question. So I told her it's because I can see she'll be more beautiful without it. The lady took a handkerchief out of her back and rubbed it all off her face on the spot and asked me what I thought. I nodded and told her yes, she's very beautiful, like my mama, who never covers her face with stuff. The lady treated us to whatever breakfast we were supposed to be having and apparently sat with us a good long while. Mama stayed in touch with her afterwards too...

Your sister's probably very nice looking as well, just needs a jolt of confidence in the natural look... If you have a friend who happens to do hair, perhaps find an excuse to connect them and get that ball rolling. I think it took me a solid nudge or two to start having my hair done regularly as well. It takes some getting used to the routine.

I think my sister’s problem is she has had a history of picking… bad men… players. And I used to be one so given that, I can spot them right away and warn her. Although in one instance she didn’t listen and well…. That’s a story I cannot openly talk about but it was very bad

I remember her face as if it was yesterday. It was like a caked on clown face over wrinkles. I guess she had a routine or something since she was young and just stuck with it. (She would’ve been a young lady around WWI era if you think about it.)

I get that women want to perhaps minimize what they think of as flaws (freckles or whatever), then minor wrinkles as they edge into their 50s, but I’ve never liked the look of it, even as a kid. (Plus makeup in the 70s was just WRONG… totally overdone.)

Limited makeup can potentially attract my eye. It can cause her to stand out in a crowd. But catching the eye is VERY short lived. It will ALWAYS be about the person.

Even though it can potentially make her look better, I still prefer her to not wear ANY makeup.

I don't know if I've kissed anyone with excessive makeup. Off the top of my head I can't think of any. But I do have that concern. The idea of kissing a bunch of powder gives me the shivers. I want a human, not some fake plastic doll.

You can take a canvas and paint the Mona Lisa. But in the end it's still a canvas. I don't want a canvas no matter how good the painter is. I want a woman, not a bunch of paint. If she can't carry on a conversation, all the makeup in the world won't make any difference.

Minimum amount is my preference. But sometimes the extra makeup looks good as long as I know the girl is already attractive without it. What I hate is when an SO does a bunch of extra makeup for other guys. It's a bad sign.

That’s weird… I’ve seen girls do that if you’re taking them to a place where the other girls will look like that (bc they want to fit in, I guess).

Also, some guys like “trophy wife” type women and like when their girl gets dolled up so they can show the girl off as a sort of prize. (Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.)

It depends on the situation for my tastes in makeup on women.

Minimal for casual, none if nothing is going on, semi-glam can be pretty hot sometimes, especially if it might be a surprise. Ooh, la, la!

The layers of makeup women put on... It's not healthy for the skin anyway.
Women will say they do it for themselves. But if they are comfortable in their own skin why put makeup on. It's a lie. It's in the name.. make.. up made up. When somethings made up it's not real.

If you can’t hug or kiss in fear of getting the colors of the rainbow smeared on your face, then it’s way too much. Personally I like to see some eye makeup and I have to admit there are lipstick colors that really look good.

too much make up can look trashy. Also context: I've seen women show up to 5ks at 7:30 am in full make-up. I mean, they're going to get all hot and sweaty. That just screams "high maintenance."

Minimal is better, but if it's a morning trip to the gym or to a 5k, none is good - shows she's not too vain.
