I have some sandals that are nylon and have velcro straps. I bought them for kayaking but they are comfortable for walking around as well.
they are sort of like this.

I have slip ons that I have always worn to taekwondo. They tend to be my go to. Or if out power walking (and drive in my truck) I'll wear full sandals/sneakers. Cool, strong and comfy.

Honestly, I wear trainers all year round. Unless I'm wearing something that requires a nice pair of sandals then I just stick to what I like.
