The vast majority of men (and there are always a few exceptions to any generalization) prefer women with longer hair. It goes back to evolutionary biology.

As a rule (again, there are always a few exceptions, but most people are subject to "the rule"), you can only grow long hair if you are reasonably young and if you are healthy and well-nourished. If you look at women in their 40s, and certainly in their 50s and beyond, it's increasingly the exception if they have long hair, and that's because their hair is less healthy as they age, and the longer it is, the more obvious its lack of health. That's why older women almost always go with a shorter haircut - but this also leads men to associate shorter hair with older, menopausal women:

Long hair on women is associated with youth and health, which is why men find it so desirable.

If you ask 10,000 men this question, you're going to find that 90+% are going to tell you they prefer women with longer hair. Certainly there's a few fans of short hair, but would you rather be attractive to 90+% of men or <10% of men? I know that if I was in your position, that would be a very easy call to make: having more options tends to be better.

I don't like really long hair. It gets in the way and must be a hassle to care for.
The longest that I care for would be to her shoulder blades.
But some short styles are really cute and flattering.

Like 98% of women look better with long hair. And by long I mean shoulder length or more. Doesn't have to be down to their butt. Even women who look good with short hair tend to look better with longer hair.

Guys like things that are feminine/not traditionally masculine (in western culture anyhow). I don't know why some women think that they can make themselves more & more masculine in 20 different ways and not have it affect how guys view them

I prefer long hair but I don't mind short hair if it's thick. My wife donates to Locks of Love every once in a while, so her hair will get cut to around shoulder length but she still looks gorgeous, because it's still thick and feminine looking.

I like girls to be comfortable and what they're in what they have and be happy and smile and be independent strong wise smart they know what they want and I think they should all do it have the confidence to do whatever they want to make them feel good

Very few women can make short hair work and look good doing it. Most of the women with short hair look horrible.

I only date women with longer hair. Doesn't have to be super long, but it does need to be pony tail long. Cause... woooo hooo.. a pony tail does something for me. Don't know why, but it does.

but most girls look masculine with short hair. I expect that statement will trigger some women but if you don't want to know the truth, don't ask my opinion.

long definitely! there's a few short hair styles that are okay but still don't complement a woman's feminism in her appearance. Look at becket from the Castle TV series, the first shows she wore her hair short but each year it got longer and I feel more appealing to her looks.

Depends on the women, For most women short hair is sexier (60 to 70%) but for some long hair or medium hair looks better on them.

At your age, there are very, very few men who don't prefer long hair. Short hair is masculine, and few women can pull that off and still come off as feminine.
