Absolutely not.

It would make me question where I went wrong has a parent.

Idc what anyone says…I believe piercings, besides the ones given to a baby girl after birth, tell a story. The ones I got after I was born were simple and elegant. Which is how it should be (just two holes).
However, I got more at my own accord. My parents did not approve. I know why I got them, and I know the story behind them. So, if my child decided they wanted some other form of piercing besides the simple ones I plan to give her, I would think I failed in some way.

No because to me that’s the prime SL—T symbol.

And trust me I have many tattoos that I designed myself. But any bellybutton or nip piercing to me is prime SL—T symbol. Someone is too comfortable showing those body parts. Unacceptable, she’d get an asswhoopin , and I’d shave her head for even insinuating it.

She's been BEGGING for all kinds of piercings - nose, eyebrow, bellybutton, lips and making her ears set off metal detectors from 10 meters away! We discussed it and agreed a nose STUD not a septum would be ok. Ears are cool too - even bars - but no gauges. We also agreed on bellybutton. Other than that wait til your 18 and oh, by the way, were not paying for any of it.

If she is 18 and/or if she is self supporting than what you think is pretty irrelevant. It might be wise to explore your reasons for not liking piercing. Is it because she is now acting more like an independent women and no longer thinks your authority is unquestioned, If you have voiced many opinions about her taste in recreation, aesthetics, men etc. she may well feel like she has given into you so often that she wants to establish some of her own boundaries. "Teenage" covers a wide range of maturity. A girl of 13 and a young woman of 19 are both teenagers but the latter is almost an adult and the former is just leaving pre-adolescence. If her choices have been smart in the past- no weird guys, not getting shit faced every Saturday, It might be worth telling her that you don't approve of it but you are now old to start making your own decisions. Not being heavy handed about some issues could pay enormous dividends when big issues arise.
