Been growing it out for like 7 months... it's in that "shaggy" stage.
Anything I can do to make it look less bridge troll? Any ideas for a middle aged gray haired man? Not shoulder length!

Ugh I feel you man, going through a hairstyle transition can be so awkward. A few tips that might help:
- Ask your barber! They see all kinds of styles and can suggest what will look good based on your face shape. Just say you want something lower maintenance.
- Go for some kind of fade on the sides so it's not all one length. That alone cleans it up a ton.
- Up top, maybe try sweeping it to one side with some pomade or paste. Gives it some shape without cutting much off.
- If you wanna go shorter, ask them to take it down just a bit around your ears so it doesn't stick out weird.
- For the color, own that gray dude! Rock some silver/salt n pepper and it'll look way cooler than trying to cover it.
- Low and loose styles are always in. Just keep sides neat and top a little messy. Boom, put together without much effort.
Trust me, anything is an upgrade from "bridge troll" haha. And chicks dig confident guys, so rock what you got! You'll be feeling fresh in no time.
I love my gray! Only guy getting more ass than me on Christmas Eve is you know who!
But yeah... my barber is a problem. He keeps asking what I want and then gives me the same shit again.
No way dude, gettin' more play than Santa on the big night! You go man!
But yeah, sounds like it's time to swap barbers for real. I feel that - sometimes they just get stuck in a rut, ya know? Even if you liked the old cut at first, hair styles gotta evolve too.
If you're cool with your length, maybe try finding someone new who has experience with textured gray styles. Like the other guy said, ask to see pics of other guys with hair/faces like yours. They should be tryin' new things to keep it fresh, not just phoning it in.
And no problem telling your guy you're makin' a switch. If he asks why just keep it real - "Been tryin' to give you direction bro but you just go through the motions now. Appreciate ya past but it's time for a change." Ain't nothin' wrong with that.
You do you, playa! Do what makes ya feel confident. Sounds like the ladies are lovin' the gray anyway so I'm sure whatever your new guy does, it'll look killer. Bet it grows in even fuller too with all that holiday action, amirite? Later bro!
I have had the same hairstyle my whole life.

Absolutely! Embrace the shaggy stage with a bit of styling cream or pomade to add texture and a bit of definition. Consider a side part or slicking it back slightly for a tidy, polished look. A beard trim can also complement the hairstyle beautifully. If you're open to a little color, some subtle highlights can add depth without going too bold. Keep it fresh and fun! 😄
