Would you allow your tween daughter to dress how she wants?

I went to the shopping centre today and I saw all these 11-13 year old girls and they all looked like young women! Lol.

Compared to my generation, they look so put together! We didn’t have the luxury of today’s fashion and access to beauty products.

I’m a cool mum, I’d take my daughter to get her nails done and teach her all things feminine if that’s something she wants to do.

I’m okay with her wearing some makeup around that age too, as long as it’s appropriate. No crazy red lipstick but I think colourful eye shadows are fun.

I don’t know if I’d be okay with her wearing crop tops or having her sparkly bra straps out etc like the girls I saw today out in public! I am too protective that she’d get sexualised at such a young age :(

Hell no! I mean i'd want her to wear what she wants but with limits, as long as her outfits are modest, she can pick whatever she wants!

I'll spend my time teaching her that she doesn't need to be cheap like others and showing too much skin means bringing the wrong attention to her!

Let others look at you for who you are and not because of how you look to them!

Well there is a difference between dressing up vs. dressing provocatively. As her mother it’s your job to make the right judgment on that.

Yeah I don’t mind dressing up at all in fact I encourage it. It’s one of the fun parts of being a girl :)

I am 17 i am allowed to wear what ever i want, plus i dont like to apply much makeup and all.

as far as crop top and all it’s today fashion but in that too we should know where to stop and say no not beyond this.

No once she’s a adult she can make the choices she wants to make. Parents are in charge of their children and are tasked with doing the best they can to raise them right. If someone’s wanting to wear skimpy outfits there is only one reason as to why someone’s wanting to wear that. It’s to solicit a certain type of attention…. Especially when it’s cold and looks uncomfortable.

Things like nails and makeup is fine. But as for wearing clothing that’s revealing no thanks.

Not sure, I am will not be some crazy muslim who kill his daughter for not wearing a hijab, but on the hand I can see why parents might feel that a daughter is too young to wear some stuff. I am not sure how liberal of a dad I would be. :)

It's a very sensitive issue , I agree bra straps showing etc I wouldn't let her dress like it, and kids grow up too quick these days :( I blame the parents too they shouldn't allow it

No id let her dress modestly no skirts or dresses above knee length, must be ankle length. No tight clothing either.
