Probably because it's consider normal for women to be on the shorter side, and in fact, is generally considered to be a positive attribute.

Men, on the other hand, are generally taller, biologically, and thus are expected to be. It's typically considered a disadvantage for men to be short, and they are often ridiculed for it, despite it not being their fault.
