When I wear out something, I replace it. I buy one or two pairs of pants a year, and a shirt or two. Most days I'm wearing a company shirt, and I have a new batch of those made every 3 years or so, and because I use "performance" microfiber shirts instead of cotton, they last a long time, don't fade or shrink, and I only need to replace them once the logos/lettering start getting worn.

I also get clothes as gifts for Christmas/birthdays, so I don't have to buy a lot for myself. I care exactly zero about fashion trends, so I'm not buying clothes that will be out of fashion in a few months. I work 5-6 days a week, so I'm mostly wearing work clothes anyway.

At the most once a year, I usually buy new when I have to replace something because it’s worn out/ripped/stained. I usually get a few things like jeans and sweatshirts for Christmas. But during the once a year I’ll buy things like t shirts, underwear, and socks. The underwear I forced my self to get some because I only had like 6 pairs, and had to remember to do the laundry at the end of the week. I hated the pressure/stress so when I saw a sale I stocked up so I could go for a couple of weeks.

@itsannalee Maybe a piece here and piece there probably every two or three months. I do go shopping more than I should. I like to shop and try on. My pocketbook. Not so much! I certainly don't buy everything that I come across or try on though.

I don't buy a lot, maybe once or twice a tear. I knit my fair share of clothes throughout the year tho. When I've mastered crocheting I'm going to learn how to sow.

If you're talking about major spends (like a new suit or blazer), not very often. Every five to ten years

Shirts and ties? A good dress shirt will last two or three years.

Jeans and shorts? Periodically.
