Is it surprising many of us whites are full of mixed genes (even a bit of African genes) too?

I was curious enough to take an ancestry test. Physically I'm just an average white woman with wavy, brown hair and brown eyes.

The results were astonishing though. While a great portion of my genes matches Scandinavian, Great Britain, Ireland/Scotland/Wales, etc. there was still a small percentage of Nigeria, Sengal and Middle Eastern genes too.

Is this surprising to me?

All of humanity stems from a choke point in our evolution about 10k people in North Central Africa. Keep that in mind when we assign certain genetic traits to certain times and places. It is almost exclusively a imaginary creation of society today. No real basis in any facts. We are all genetically extremely similar or we wouldn't be able to have fertile young with each other. Epigenetics assigning lineage is at best medically interesting, at worse junk racism.

Egyptians are tanned cause they are a mixture of Africa and Greek Genes so if you have Egyptian genes or Middle Eastern genes in you, you will probably test positive for African genes.

Genetics is quite complex and puzzling. I would've never found out I had Middle Eastern and African genes. Even by a smaller percentage, it's hard to believe that long ago I once had a black ancestor.
