Extremely dissatisfied with the thickness of my hair despite doing all I can to take care of it properly : ( I used to have thicker hair as a teenager but in my twenties it thinned out. The bottom half of the hair is old bleached hair from Dec 2023 - most of which I’ve chopped off at the salon but my hairdresser told me to keep the rest for some reason. I really wanted to do a big chop

It’s not bad and yeah of course you have to take it forever. Because Minoxidil helps to opens potassium channels in hair follicle cells, leading to an increase in blood flow and oxygen delivery and help block DHT, a hormone contributing to hair loss. So when u use minoxidil, it’s extending enlarges hair follicles, allowing for thicker, longer hair growth.

So when you stop to use that, your potassium channels close again just like you before you use minoxidil, and your body will produce DTH again, that’s why you will lose hair again.
