Should you wear underwear with a summer dress?

Question

Traditionally, summer dresses were always worn without a bra or panties, although it was considered OK to wear a bathing costume underneath if you were on the way for a swim or to lie on the beach. Otherwise underwear was a big no no.

They're designed to be worn without underwear but I'll often see the distinct lining showing though the fabric on some women.

So is wearing a bra and panties a big fashion faux pas or do I need to get with the times and cover up?

Well, some women may want to go unnatural, and others may not. For those who want to feel pantyless but are not comfortable with that, there is always a thong, or make your own micro thong. Years ago, my wife found what she called a C panty. It was a metal frame shaped like a letter C covered in fabric, worn front to back, held I place by friction. This is the best description I have. I do not know if anyone else remembers this type of panty, I believe from the 70s or 80s, it may still be around today.

Well i hate to say it i'm not qualified to answer this question because I don't wear summer dresses

But for the girls that were summer dresses, it's just rude to wear panties LO. L not unless they are sexy panties. No I thought about it and I take back the rude comment... i think girls that wear summer dresses should wear panties but they have to be sexy

By default, I always put on panties before I leave home.  My sundresses turn my husband on.  Therefore, he'd ask me to remove my panties underneath my sundress.

We have often strong winds morning and at evening in vicinity of the coast. Going to eat an ice cream of take few drinks in very short skirt can be entertaining for some boys but as family event is 'showing the bear' is generally a bad idea.

Do whatever you want to do. The fashion police aren't going to look for you and make an arrest. If you want to air out your bits, ditch the undies. If you feel too inhibited to leave out the panties, then wear them. Is anyone other than you going to know that you are naked under the sundress?

Personally I agree that it’s a fashion faux pas, but every girl has her own style. If I was going to the beach, I’d prefer not wearing a bra and panties but other places I might feel differently.

I should wear underwear if i wear a sundress. I don’t wear sundresses though. So i may never have to make that decision in practice. I usually do wear undies. I wouldn’t really have reason to question that decision going forward.

I've  never  heard about this no-underwear rule for summer dresses. Somewhere, I missed the memo. Braless is ok - I just put nipple pads on tho. No panties is risky when that summer breeze blows.

Exactly your right.  My girlfriend did not wear with it at all, unless for swimming or sunbathing wear underneath micro bikini. To be honest without underwear really attractive and I endorsed her.
