I prefer a sporty style, most often leggings, T-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans. Do men like this kind of clothing on women? Or do they prefer skirts and something elegant?

My mind on you women and clothing is very confused. For some reason clothing matters to you lot and I simply don't get it. Allow me to do a deep dive.

Gym: -Be me

-I decided to go workout and need to dress for it

-loose shorts, but my shirt is too tight so I change it for something looser that lets my skin breath.

-gets to gym

-girls there are all wearing skin tight clothes.

-i ask why

-they say it's comfortable

-i don't understand, because it's so tight, and goes right up the crack of their ass. Some of the girls look like they don't have clothes on until it hits the feet or the waste where it switches to a sports bra.

How is that comfortable? I come home and watch youtube videos to describe it to me and those people tell me it's because they go there for the men's attention or there's videos of women exposing men for looking, despite going there for men to look. I did notice they don't really workout... as in they don't really break a sweat.

Now back to your question, question asker, and look at this question much different. The importance on these clothes do have a purpose much like when I pick camouflage for hunting or warm for cold weather, but that purpose in the context you're asking... what do men like?

We like hot chicks. A fat ugly shit in a skirt or something elegant look just as shit as a fat ugly shit in sweat pants. <---That's my TL;DR true answer. When I lived in Japan there was a group of women that would dress in sweatshirts and pants... a fashion trend... and they were fucking sexy as hell.

So too push my point... you can put a nice dress and lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig.

My answer is yes.

"Sporty", leggings and t-shirts or jeans and a sweatshirt are fine and can be sexy/cute for casual nights out, running errands, around the house, or having friends over.

But...

I'd like to know you have the social awareness to dress for the occasion. Can you also rock sharp dress pants and heels or a dress and heels for a night out at an upscale restaurant, the symphony, a dinner party, a business event, or an awards dinner?

Do you have a sense of style whether you're doing "Sporty" or "Classing it up"? Do you rock it all with a quiet casual confidence? THAT I WILL NOTICE!

I had a girly shirt on top of my motorcycle pants today and standing around waiting typing in my phone. I had a number of people approach me. I did look comical but it was only the top half that needed to be presentable and the bottom functional to get there. My jacket was left in my bike. Other people were bored and assumed I was interesting I guess. We had some fun convos while ignoring the elephant, not that I was trying. I owned it.

Men like to be respected and enjoy a laugh. They aren't difficult. It doesn't matter what you wear.

Sporty/Casual is overdone in this society, especially in the UK, USA, and Canada. Most women these days wear athletic and super casual clothes. We need more women out there who dress elegant and feminine. Women don't even dress up for dates these days. Thankfully I'm part of the vintage scene where the women dress in incredible clothes.

I mean, I love dresses. It will always be my favourite type of clothing on women, but it's not necessarily meant for every scenario. If she's working out, then shorts and a tank top work. If she's going to sleep, pajamas or lingerie (lingerie ideally 😏). If she's going to the beach, then having a bikini under the dress is ideal.

The key is that she dresses femininely and for the occasion. But honestly, elegant flowy dresses are definitely the best for most scenarios and make a girl all the more captivating when I notice them.

Unfortunately sporty is just played out. People wear their gym clothes to nice restaurants now. It’s lazy. I 100% prefer it when my wife is dressed up in feminine attire. Understandably comfort and casual make sense for the grocery store or a run to the hardware store but I definitely miss the days where men & women spent some time and effort on their appearance and had some pride in themselves.

If you can't be positively identified as female from 50 yards regardless of viewing angle, you aren't cultivating a feminine enough appearance. The same thing goes for men and presenting as masculine.

It's situational. I prefer women who dress in skirts, heels, blouses, etc if we are headed out to eat or attending a social function. If we are doing something athletic or just hanging around the house then I understand the need for comfort. I will also add that if the world gets to see the dressed up version of my wife and she never does that for me, it can be kind of a let down. I also like to dress well. But that's just my preference.
