Are there any people here who don’t put much value on looks?

My dad is a funny looking person. But he is or appears very confident. He just never gave a dang. He never even did hairstyles for me as a little girl. Was even reluctant to comment on appearance of women on TV or magazines. I was always dumbfounded at that. But now that I grew up, I see how its not important. Competence/skills/intelligence are far more. I wish I have seen that sooner.

I don’t put much on my appearance. I don’t even brush my hair daily. I have confidence. Lots of it.
my daughter is a very pretty looking girl. I never told her. I have to work really really hard to build her inner beauty.
she finally figured out she is pretty like last year.
I told her, still, her inner beauty will live forever. Work on that more.
