If I'm going swimming or around the house I do. I don't typically wear them other places. I would never wear them hiking because they're actually dangerous. The material they're made from allows sharp sticks to go right up into your foot. Not only that but it will act as a guide to keep the stick strait and true as it drives into your flesh. Companies don't know about this or don't care if they do but I've experienced the mechanics of it.
