Should I carry a black or brown bag with casual outfits including jeans in the winter?

I have always wondered if I should carry a brown or black bag with casual outfits in the winter. I know that both will probably work, but I could carry black or brown with jeans. I don't like brown with black colored jeans obviously, so I am not sure that black wouldn't be my best bet. What do you think? Or would I do gray? I have one of those as well.

Consider me a bit odd... I have one bag I carry 90% of the time. It's brown leather.

I have a couple of others that are mainly to go with somewhat formal and dressy outfits.

At the same time, my style obsession tends to be more in the direction of dresses and legwear.
