Guys, Long or short nails?

I know I've mocked the overdone manis in a previous question, but I'd love for guys to weigh in on how important you consider a gal's manicure to be?

To me, I've never wanted a guy to look at or hold my hand and see a sloppy mani or broken nails... I don't like to look like I just tried to claw my way out of a ditch, you know?

So how important is a good mani to you? What does it tell you about a gal? (Also, pick a type.)

I love the standard OCD mani (clean cut nails, tidy, not color, not long, not overdone).

I love the slightly longer nails (but natural colors, nothing flashy)

I love long flashy (even plastic) nails.

I don't mind her having longish nails. I tend to let mine get a tad long, too because I see them as tools. They help me pick up things and peel and open stuff that'd be otherwise VERY hard to peel or and I use them to scrape off and screw in. I try to keep them smooth. If one breaks or gets too long, I'll clip it down and probably file it. So, if she wants the same for her, that's fine with me.
If they're, maybe, 1/4" long, that's fine with me, maybe even a bit longer but I don't exactly think having talons is a great idea! My girlfriend seems to like to do a lot of housework so, it'd behoove her to have shorter hooves. Otherwise, they might get in the way or break off easier.
She can paint her nails any way she likes. I doubt any of that would bother me.

I like to see that a woman cares about her appearance and makes an effort to look her best for me. A woman who wears an LBD to a first date gets my attention. A woman who has her hair and makeup done in a flattering manner gets my attention. The fingernails are a sign of a girl's attention to detail.

I do like a little length but it isn't that important. It is important that her nails are well taken care of. I've always admired a woman that takes care of her hands. It's kinda hot when I hold a girls hand and feel how soft and dainty they are.

Completely natural nails with a little tiny bit of length. I'm not a fan of painted nails and not a fan of fake nails.

Just clean natural nails.

I just like clean, natural nails, of a reasonable length.

They can be painted, or not, at the owner's discretion, but that is unimportant to me. I truly don't mind unpainted nails in the slightest. I really don't pay that much attention unless she can poke my eye out from across the room.

Reasonable length (not to long) natural nails painted any red from bright red to dark red, black, blue, green or pearl white.

Agreed. I keep mine trimmed ~.25-.5cm and polished. (2025 was the first year I used red to feel a little more classic/festive.) I don't do darker colors, though. I prefer the classic nude/neutral colors.

I don't care if a woman paints her nails but long nails are gross. Since I used to work in a restaurant, I don't want to see some girl with bat claws handling my food 🤢🤮

I like well cared for nails that are short to medium in length. I do not like "claws" on a woman at all. I would be too afraid she would leave scratch marks on my bum! ha ha ha

I'm not picky. The length of a woman's nails are really not on my list of what's important to me. Short nails or long, I'll take both.
