So I have a small business. I create clothing bundles for people :) It's basically a gift for yourself. Like an online stylist. However that's not the point haha. I style all sizes, ages, genders, etc.. I never bodyshame customers that are on the heavier side and actually love to make them feel worth it and pretty.
The other day I received an order from a mom. She wanted a bundle for her 12 year old daughter. But I immediately noticed something. Her daughter was extremely overweight. I am not talking about a little bit, this really young girl has a 50 inch waist. Her size is a XXXXL (4XL) for adult women. I was honestly a little bit shocked. I have styled adults with size 4XL-6XL before, but this is such a young girl that it caught me off guard a little.
Due to circumstances her bundle had a little bit of a delay, but of course I was still happily working on it. Ready to make this girl feel stylish :) Today her mom texted me about it and said that she was worried that her daughter was going to outgrow the clothes, because kids 'tend to do that'. I agree, kids often do outgrow their clothes really fast. But if you're already a size 4XL for adult women at only 12 years old, how much further do you expect her to 'outgrow?' Especially because her size is already for ADULT women.
It's not as if I care that much, because at the end of the day I am here to make that little girl feel special, but I'm just curious to see what other people think? :)

It sounds like you're in a unique position to support this young girl by helping her feel confident and special through fashion. While it's great that you're prioritizing her self-esteem, your concern is understandable. Addressing such matters delicately and with empathy can make a big difference.
