Is this child abuse do you think?

When i was 7 years old my mom put me back in diapers for one week because she was fed up that i peed on the toilet seat and didn't wipe it away and she had told me many, many times i just didn't care because she always cleaned it, was one weak in diapers child abuse? I feel it was child abuse because even if i was lazy i was just 7 years old.

That's definitely harsh, man. Putting a 7 year old back in diapers is super embarrassing and humiliating. From a legal standpoint, one week probably wouldn't meet the threshold for child abuse. But emotionally, that had to mess with your head being potty trained and then not trusted with the toilet.

Kids that age aren't fully responsible yet and will be lazy sometimes. A time out or taking away privileges would make more sense than reverting back to diapers. That sends the message you're not capable of being a "big kid." No kid wants to hear that from their parent.

I can understand your mom being frustrated, but there were better ways to handle it without shaming you like that. You didn't deserve that, bro. Parents are supposed to guide kids and build them up, not make them feel worthless over small mistakes. Try not to let it get to you - she was in the wrong there, not you. You seem like a good dude to me.

I never thought of that, i would've kept doing it so the diapers works i sat down peeing but just because it worked i still wonder if it could be considered child abuse because i hated it and didn't consent 🤷🏻‍♂️ If i were in my moms shoes i would have given me a far worse punishment because i was a little stubborn asshole at that age

Yeah that's emotional abuse 😢 She was humiliating you. I'm sorry she did that too you 😔 If you had brothers or sisters they probably laughed at you which made it worse I'm sure.

yes, that's such a weird punishment to give to a 7 year old that can just learn by simply asking the kid nicely to clean up after using the bathroom
