Is this mental abuse from a parent?

Telling your child whom you know suffers from body dysmorphia/eating disorders and depression and borderline that “there are people way better looking than you.”

I think a parent should never say such a thing to their child. I don’t know what other people’s view is but I think this is mental abuse.

All people are beautiful in their own ways and preference only hardly matters for our partner. Vice versa as well. I mean there’s days I think all humans are ugly- like wtf is the thing with two flaps in between ladies legs and wtf is the thing hanging out between men’s legs. Wtf is the two things on the guys chest when he’s not a lady. Wtf is it on the female’s? Nipples? WTF? lol

Then there are days I think-

wow people truly are beautiful and divine. So rare. Unique. So real. So perfectly imperfect. Both symmetrical and asymmetrical.

We have to just accept ourselves. Beauty art fashion. That’s all conceptual. Opinionated. Perception. And PREFERENCE.

Simply find someone who prefers and APPRECIATES your looks, and accept yourself too.

As long as your body is healthy. Skin healthy. You’re hygienic and perform self care is literally all that matters- that it functions as it ought to.

The parents saying that, said lies- projected their dim views and preference on to their child, and parents of all people should be responsible and accountable of supporting their children, and being the ones who start the foundation of their children’s confidence, as they go on to develop and solidify their identity.

This behavior and conduct from a parent is extremely poor and I frown upon it entirely.

It is mental abuse. It messes with the mental health of their children. It further affirms the toxic and blinded views that child has on themself/ themselves. That’s just so wrong. It would possibly require therapy if it didn’t endanger their life.

I can only see poorly educated, poor, and selfish parents doing this. The poor would say this so they could establish themselves or promote more food for them if their child stops eating. It would limit their child from working confidently or making healthy relationships. That would take longer than it ought to.

Abuse naw. Not technically. They're assholes though and I'd cuss my parents out for it. But I don't think it's abuse unless they constantly do it

I don't know. There are attractive people that this statement would be applicable. So if they say it in a discussion on their body dismorphia; it should be okay.
