Thousands of Scottish fans are in the USA, and many of them are wearing kilts. As you may know, no true Scotsman ever wears underwear under his kilt.
But what about when in more conservative countries such as the USA? After all, we'd expect female tourists in Saudi Arabia to cover their heads and dress appropriately to their customs, so should we expect Scottish men to wear underwear?

Should Scottish football fans be forced to wear underwear in the USA?
Of course not. It's about time Americans learned what a real man, er ah Scot lad, is. 😏
You know how the referee is supposed to check the shoes of every player before the game (they never do)? Well, security should be instructed to ensure that each Scottish fan is appropriately and correctly dressed, lads and lassies.
Sometimes the Scots do wear an undergarments the "jock" strap and it's common knowledge, and you've shown two pictures of them.
I may be wrong, but the jockstrap (or "jock") was obviously named after the Scotman that designed it, to provide secure support and protection to the male genitalia during physical activity or sports, especially in the Highland Games.
But the Scottish football fans with Knickers, or knickerless, they won't now offend anyone in the USA, because they're taking the first flight home after taking a drubbing in the World Cup.
An Update on why Scottish people are called Jocks.
It is a traditional Scots variation of "Jack", and historically it was a nickname for a Scotsman, similar to "Tommy" was used for English soldiers, "Paddy" for the Irish, and "Taffy" for the people of Wales.
Whether Scotmen wear jockstraps I don't know, but perhaps they should 😄
The jockstrap was designed in 1874 by an American Charles F Bennett, a designer working for a Chicago based sports company, then he mass produced them with his own company.
They were originally called jockey straps and made for cyclists.
Perhaps the Scottish team should play football wearing kilts instead of shorts, and then they might have frightened all the other teams all the way to lifting the World Cup.
Scottish fans in kilts don’t need to change the tradition as long as they respect local laws. In the USA, indecent exposure is illegal, but simply going “regimental” under a kilt is fine unless they actually expose themselves. So no legal or moral obligation to wear underwear, just a need to avoid flashing and be respectful.
Yes, they all should wear underwear and they shouldn’t be showing what’s underneath their kilts. I’m also rooting for that country Scotland to beat the others because they’re different and they’re the underdog always in life. But if they ever play the USA, of course I’m rooting for my country. Don’t forget Thursday in the middle of the night in England the USA 🇺🇸 versus Turkey 🇹🇷 I don’t think you’re gonna get up that early to watch it but I’ll be watching 😊
It’s in Los Angeles California and in Los Angeles that’s at 7:30 PM and in Miami Florida Eastern time it’s 10:30 PM I wish it could be earlier so you could see the game. But I heard in this game the USA might rest their starters because the game is not gonna make any difference for the USA. They’ve already advanced to the next round
For the first couple matches , team Scotland and the Tartan Army took up residence in Boston causing a notable increase in beer sales. Word has it Bostonians enjoyed the lads' presence so much that they're considering asking for the city to be considered for admittance into Scotland, lock stock and barrel, or at least to become a sister city to Glasgow. No reason to change their undergarments I ahould think.
That feels kind of odd, but I giess Boston being more of an old world city than Miami. Lots easier to hit lots of spots on foot there, it's cooler... Miami can be brutal temp wise, and in a lot of ways it can feel more like a caribbean or South American destination with all the different neighborhoods.. Cuban, Haitian etc... may be a little cultural clash going on?
The traditional version seems to me at the same time functional and esthetic. A correct compromise. Amusing problem actually, but still susceptible to occur ;0)
Maybe they should wear just a little hat for the head. Kind of like covering just the nipples for women. But my issue lies with bare butts on seats, specifically the exit ramp. Perhaps that calls for a G String at least.
Questions like this are a complete waste of disk space.
