I have never been a joiner or a follower. And my "fashion IQ" or awareness is near zero. I have no idea what's "IN" or what I "should be" wearing. I do my own thing. And that has always worked well for me. It's not even a conscious thing. I just wear what I feel comfortable in. I've been an adult for a while now. So...

I tend to dress well. Better than 95% of the guys around me. If they are wearing shorts and flip flops or ratty jeans and ratty sneakers, I'm in dark wash jeans and a button up shirt with a blazer or sport coat and polished cowboy boots or leather shoes. Most of the stuff I own is what I view as classic. Not trendy or edgy. Stuff that looks appropriate and sharp on a successful adult male. And stuff I'm keeping for 10 years not 10 months.

I get noticed simply for looking "different". Once in a while I get negative reactions from women... "too stiff" or "can't relax". But for the most part women seem to appreciate a guy who puts a little effort into his appearance.

Lately, the last 5 years or so, I guess I got a little nostalgic for my childhood and college years. I was born in Texas and lived in Oklahoma briefly. So I've gone back to cowboy boots (5 pair), Wrangler boot cut jeans, and western style belts with moderate buckles and conchos and occasionally, I'll pull out one of 4 Stetson fur felt hats I own. My grandfather always wore a Stetson. Believe me, that gets me some looks in the New York Metro area. I've never seen any other guy in my area try to rock a cowboy look, let alone pull it off with confidence, LOL. It's really not a cry for attention. It's just personal history, nostalgia, and maybe a little boredom. But it does start a lot of conversations with women.

I think the confidence to go my own way somehow registers with a lot of women.

I used to follow trends when I was a teenager up until my early 20s. I love clothes and fashion and managed to create my own capsule wardrobe with pieces that never go out of style and I re-wear them all the time my style is pretty classic and minimalistic which never goes out of style. I no longer follow trends as before but might add one or two trendy pieces to my wardrobe once in a while.

In all honesty I've never been a follower of fashion.

On extremely rare occasions if I see something I really like I'll purchase it.

Other than that I tend to get the majority of my clothes in the sales, and charity shops where I can find some lovely outfits that have never ever been worn.

I love peeking at trends, but I never let them boss me around 😄 I treat them like a mood board. If something fits my body, lifestyle, and personality, I’m in. If not, bye. I mix classic pieces with a few trendy touches so my style feels current, but still very “me.”

I always been fortunate to always be pretty fit , but now more so than ever , particularly taking ( sadly ) age into account.. my problem ( if in Australia) is getting gear that fits correctly ,

But here in Thailand it's hot , so I pretty much live in gym / beach wear , I keep an eye out for any trends I like , and I'm conious of matching and all that..

In general fashion , I think is aimed at females , but I'm always well presented , even in the gym..

So now not a follower , as a young guy I followed surf culture , which was velvet shirts , jeans , little unkept , always good shape , that's as close as I got , still adore those shirts , but too hot for them here.

nope, never been into trends... especially because they're just trends, I am not against them, I just don't have an interest on them, lol

I would not call myself a "trend-setter" either, because I don't make my own fashion, lmao

I dress for comfort, more than anything (and comfort is very important in Hellish, Texas!!) and practicality as well... and it still looks good, feels good, so... that's more than enough for me, lol

I didn't really have a style in high school. It was just tight shirts to show off my figure (because I was a proud athlete) and jeans most of the time.

After high school, I got on Pinterest and starting developing and refining my taste for boho and classy styles. And ever since then, it hasn't changed at all. My favourite style is always gonna be boho.

I don't care too much about fashion in general. I just try to wear something that doesn't look ridiculous and is appropriate for the occasion.

The one trend I did follow was men's short shorts but only because a friend who had recently gotten into them wouldn't shut up about how much more comfortable they are than regular longer shorts and turns out he was right.

Now I refuse to buy a pair of shorts if it as so much touches the very top of my knee. My thighs need to be out.

Other than that I've never followed trends.

Ehhh I do whatever I think looks good. Sometimes I'll adopt a trend usually I'll specifically avoid them.

If I follow a trend I usually try to find a play on it. Like someone found a way to do it in a way I feel is unique to me.

The moment I discover that I got something that is ''trend'' - I will get rid of it.

My own fashion idea: when I need trousers, I'll buy two identical ones. If I need a new shirt, it will match all the other black or grey ones.

Hmmmmmm... is that already an own fashion trend?

My advice is to keep an eye on them, though, generally, because when something comes around that you do really like, and most importantly that flatters your body, seize it. You won't see it again for at least a decade.

No. I mix and match. I'll do my own thing.

We all do follow 'trends' up to a certain point by buying what is available in the shops. But 'trends' and 'fashion' come and go. So I pick what I like, leave the rest.
