Are these shorts too short for women's shorts standards (asking for my girlfriend)?

So my girlfriend always wears pants but has recently decided to start to give shorts a try. The above GIF is obviously not my girlfriend, she's a model from a video ad on Amazon for women's shorts, but the model looks almost exactly like my girlfriend and the shorts my girlfriend bought are the same length and fit her exactly as the model.

My girlfriend loves the shorts and finds them super comfortable but is for some reason obsessed over them possibly being too short.

The shorts look perfectly fine to me and kind of sexy even and I have told her so many times but for some reason my girlfriend still keeps being obsessed over the length possibly being too short.

It seems that in recent years the trend has somewhat changed toward longer women's shorts that are close to the knees but they still don't look too short at all to me.

My girlfriend has pretty severe OCD and can be kind of odd. She loves the shorts and doesn't want longer shorts but keeps being worried about them not being fashionable because most modern women's shorts are long and hers are way shorter than that.

Since she won't listen to me hopefully some internet opinions can put her at ease. For some reason she seems to value society's opinions as a whole over mine.

Yeah you're right. Where I live shorts are really common and worn by almost everyone. She plans to wear shorts to casual occasions. For formal work related occasions she'd still wear pants.

The only men I've seen successfully pull of tiny shorts are either guys who are extremely muscular or very feminine guys such as feminine twinks or femboys.

You never grew up in the `60's and `80's where it was QUITE common for guys to wear very short shorts! Did you ever hear oof girls wearing boy shorts? Where'd you think they got that name? BOYS USED TO WEAR THEM back in the early `60's.

I mean yeah as you can see by my anonymous age range I could've been born in 1997 at the earliest and 2001 at the latest lol. Nowhere near the '60's or '80's.

Fashion sure does change a lot over the years. These days especially because of social media trends which move fast.

And I actually didn't know that about boyshorts. I just assumed it was just a random name they chose. Interesting to know.

I'm pretty sure that if you watch any of those Beach Blanket Bimbo movies or those that Elvis Presley made, you'll see guys wearing shorts like that.
A friend of mine, back in the `80's, would ALWAYS wear not only very short cut-off jeans but cut off t-shirts, too. How many guys today wear cut-off shirts?
Come to think of it, how many guys do you see today wearing a kitchen wall clock dangling from their neck? That was all the rage about 40 years ago!

They’re absolutely within normal “women’s shorts” standards, especially if they’re similar to what’s shown in an Amazon ad. Fashion right now is mixed: long Bermuda styles are trendy, but classic short denim or casual shorts are still very common and totally acceptable.

If she feels comfy, they fit well, and nothing’s unintentionally revealing, they’re not “too short,” just a different style.
