Boat shoes to a bar?

i rarely wear pants Because I get really hot so I wear cargo/khachi shorts with a button up shirt or polo.

will a pair of boat shoes be acceptable to wear to the bar?

Depends on the type of bar you go to, but most could care less what you wear, I have seen people wearing tee shirts, shorts, and flip flops or sneakers.
