Converse shoes?

A few years back I had a pair of the original style Converse shoes and I ended up pitching them because I thought they smelled funny. I ran them through the wash a couple of times but the rubber smell remained. I recently picked up a similar style and once again feel like they might be kicking off an odd odor.

What do you guys think? Are there differences in the rubber soles of these style of shoes that lead to a different odor? Or is it something I'm noticing only because I am, oddly, sniffing my shoes?

I've run into that problem before when I bought some cheap shoes at steve and barry's. After a while they start to smell bad regardless of using baby powder in them or anything else. Converse is a pretty good shoe, so I don't know what the specific problem is. Again I've only noticed it coming from really cheap shoe's.

well I used to ude my converse for running, that's why mine git stinky, if you use converse for long long long periods of time they have a tendency on getting stinky

I have about four pairs of Converse sneakers (they're pretty much all I wear) and I've never noticed anything like that. If you have to actually sit there and smell your shoes in order to notice it, chances are you're the only one who smells it.

ha, just ask a trusted friend if they smell anything abnormal, could just be the rubber smell. perhaps you have a sensitivity to it. I'd do whatever makes you feel comfortable, because that's what is going to give you confidence.
