Not trying to sound conceited, but when I look in the mirror, I think I'm an attractive person... my face looks defined, I'm pretty, and then someone takes a picture of me and I look like a completely different person! :-( I look so chubby, round-faced, pale, and sad. Nothing stands out about my features on a camera.
And then another weird thing I've noticed: so I think my nose looks misshaped. When I get my picture taken by others (like professionals), my nose looks prettier than in the mirror but everything else is hideous. When I take pictures of myself, I look the way I do in the mirror (good) but my nose looks as ugly as I see in the mirror. I don't know which to trust.

Yes I think so to a certain extent. I've definitely looked different on some pictures just because of the angle and lighting. I usually just trust the mirror. A picture is so subjective and each aspect of the camera, once again lighting and angle, can really alter the overall appearance. I mostly look way worse in pictures than in real life cause in pictures you can only perceive on side of me. You can't see my entire being in movement. Plus my camera is so old and sh*tty that it does not justice.
I'm average in person but look sh*tty in pictures, so I'm going to say yes.
There are people I know who look puffy/swollen/chubbier in pictures than in real life. They just don't photograph well, which is fine but can make things difficult.
it depends on the person some people look better in pics then ugly in person, other people it could be the opposite I look good in my pics and better in person.
if taken by professional, you will look better in pictures with all the great lighting and everything. lot of things matter when taking a good picture...finding the best angle for a person to look good in (every person has a different angle that they will look good in). lighting plays a big role and so does a camera.
I trust the mirror more than camera...maybe my friends more. because looking at yourself in mirror and trying to figure out if you look good is kinda biased.
On the other hand, you should feel comfortable about yourself and however you feel confident. I think this is what matters the most!
Neither are completely accurate. Mirrors show a flipped image, and cameras have all kinds of factors that change the shape of your face such as lenses zoom, distance from camera, color, contrast, saturation.
To get closes to what people see with a camera, have someone else take a picture of you from several feet away. This will have the least amount of distortion.

I hear I look different in pictures. Also, I can guarantee my girlfriend looks better in reality than she does in a picture. For some inexplicable reason no picture has ever captured her beauty. Though I always envied those people who look good in pictures. Sigh.
I trust my eyes. Not cameras.Yes Its possible.I have been told by many of my friends that I look better in pictures than in real.I trust the mirror more than the camera.Mirror shows our real image.
i look like sh*t in some pictures and OK in others... just like in real life. I look different races in some pictures though lol
people can look different in pictures. the mirror is your reverse image but that is what you are used to seeing. also the camera is not as captive as a real eye so it looks like you but not as vivid as "real life"
I look better in the mirror but horrible in pictures!
I think it is possible. My face looks bigger than my actual face in person! Maybe I'm an alien!
