what is considered "without makeup" though to a guy? if i do my makeup very natural (concealer, light powder foundation, a little blush, and non-clumping mascara) i can look like i have no makeup but i actually do. and i can't imagine a guy ever saying that i look better with no makeup (circles under my eyes, super pale, light eyelashes) than with natural makeup.

however i know that most guys do say they don't like "heavy makeup" which i totally understand because i barely even like myself in heavy makeup, I don't know why someone else would lol

They don't really know the REAL difference, I believe.
Natural make up (just a bit of concealer, lip gloss and a bit of mascara - they don't see this...at all...).

I can see any kind of paint alteration on the eyes. I don't really notice concealer. I don't like how the eyes are modified, it makes people look either fake or creepy. Usually both.

Well he doesn't notice the basics like foundation and concealer but he actually likes neutral eyeshadows on me, he hats eyeliner though lol

My girlfriend only wears it on special occasions and even then it's just eyeliner and lipstick. If lip gloss counts, then I suppose she wears some, but I think that's more because she likes to make me guess what flavor it is.

She doesn't need it in the slightest though.

Women use makeup to signal sexual availability though, which is falsely interpreted as "looking better" by men in questionnaires. You should have specified that somehow.

Afaik most women have:

1. no makeup which they wear at home and where no one can really see them (rarely some even have 'at home makeup' ...)
2. everyday makeup (or some equally no makeup) which they wear at work and where everyone can see them
3. sexual availability makeup (= virtually all women) which they wear if they go out and seek a partner - mostly characterized by reddish glossy lipstick, slightly reddened cheeks and underlined eyes.

Huh I don't really find that cheap or whorish, I actually tend to get a lot of compliments from people (usually women at church) when I wear make up kinda like that...maybe its cause I still dress appropriately with it that changes things?

I don't know the whores I knew maybe did more on the eyes in any case, like yellowish around and more black underlined the lips sometimes more skin-colored but always exessively glossy. The younger ones were lazy they knew they would get the men anyway the old ones tend to overdo it. Yes they would also dress like whores short skirts and stockings skim tight top in the winter and summer all the same just wearing a large jacket around it. I don't know what it is but that exess gloss and redness and cheeks also reddish surely is pretty whorish in my perception not exactly common here (Germany) otherwise.

Yes, maybe there are those cultural differences but I wouldn't have guessed that. There is this half-true story about men from the US military reporting women from Germany to be overly quick to jump into bed with them during the occupation after the war and the women here saying the same about them. Supposedly, it were cultural differences and different conventions on what signals which that caused the confusion. Something like that.
