Personally, I'd rather not be hit on/approached by the gym hence why I go to a female only gym.

Working out haha! It's relatively small. But they have your basic circuit machines, and a yoga/dumbbell/ab area. At least that's what I've seen, I've never been in there loL!

@myTake Owner - Hell yeah I did! I've lived in the Bay area 3 different times in my life, it's something I've brought with me. I live in So Cal now. I lived somewhere inbetween forest hill and inner sunset with my girlfriend at the time who was also living with her sister and her sister's husband. Fucking GREAT times all around.

Or don't hang out at your home the gym like a vain person and meet women at areas with more culture like museums and libraries or doing things you actually enjoy doing like surfing or at music festivals that way you already have something in common as an icebreaker and not just that both of you pay money to use equipment.

I agree that all the points here are pretty much basic "how to talk to a girl anywhere". As for the gym... every woman I have ever known hates being hit on at the gym. Except those that wear makeup and go there in order to not workout but meet a meathead. Plus I have a rule, " don't shit where you eat". The gym, as well as a a few cafes and bars, is my safe place. I don't want to be messing with girls there and earn a reputation of being a douche and not wanting to go there anymore. No thanks.

Having been a user of gyms & worked in gyms , I would say that gyms are one of the last places to meet women , they do NOT want to be approached at a gym & they make that pretty damn clear... most women train with a scowling " Stay the F away !! " expression & only smile at & are positive towards other women only , plus I've heard women complaining to each other about " disgusting sex crazed men " in gyms too. I live in the UK , people do not really talk to strangers at all over here , so could be a cultural factor , but this is a good take , kudos to you here , but I would advise any man to keep well away from women at gyms.

My golden rule: never flirt with girls in the gym. I go to gym to work out, not meet people. That's just me though.
You're missing out on tons of great opportunities to meet new friends, dates, etc. You really are.
I'm talking about dates, but not just that. I met a gentleman at the gym the other day that was a decorated Marine Sniper, and shared these crazy stories. He's Persian and served for the US (which alone is significant) and knew Chris Kyle (American Sniper). You should seriously reconsider.
I don't have the time. I'm a businessman, and a hobby musician. I only have 1 hour in the morning to smash myself up. So although I agree with you, I personally just don't have time for making friends or dates there. I would rather pick up a girl from another gym for example. Just as long as she isn't at my gym where we mess around in my golden hour.
