Is Tinder just for hooking up?

I'm just wondering if Tinder is only for hooking up. I ask because everybody seems to assume that. Except for the girls I match with on there. The girls I talk to don't act like they want to hook up. I ask them what they're on there for and they say they want to make friends and they aren't into one night stands. Are they being modest? So I don't know who is right. Thoughts?

I got tinder a had it for like a day or two. All the guys just wanted to hook up and I got it for other reasons. I ended up deleting it because yeah it wasn't for me. So maybe they thought the same I did about the app that it isn't for hook up but just a dating app?

Yes, it's a hook up app. I tried using it for meeting people to just hang out with when I was new to the area, but to no avail. Lol
