Why is my guy friend all of a sudden so shy around me? HELP!!

My guy friend and I have become flirty in the past few weeks. We use to be coworkers and got along well and were friendly but since I left that job and we hangout in a group on weekends and grab drinks. Things between us are different now. A few weeks ago we had very flirty night and I noticed when he saw me his eyes widened and he was smiling all night. A few weeks later we went to his place and he was pretty quiet with me and not talking much. Once we started drinking he was flirting a lot with me and became touchey and he was smiling and making a lot of eye contact.

Im confused with how he feels. He was really flirty the past few months but now seems shy and quiet around me. Does this means he likes me? Also, he has my phone number but he never ever texts me. Im the one initiates conversation with him if we do text and invite him if we are planning to go to a concert or show with the group.

What do you guys think?

It seems that not working together anymore, things have changed in another direction with being-----Ex coworkers who have started another project called: Party partners, who have a lot of fun when out and about and can let your hair down now. And with a few mixed drinks, Sends a few 'Mixed' signs, and when the party is over, the realization hits home that things may have gotten carried away.
However, with a few under your belt, one tends to be a bit bolder, so when he gets a bit More 'Flirting' and became all hands and smiles, googling even. This was the booze talking for him. I get the feeling he doesn't have the gollies to be the life of the party, so This enables him to help him fire him up. That most likely explains the other side of the supposed shy guy when he is not pie eyed. Not so much in general of being coy, he could be realizing that now that he is sober, Everything has hit him like a ton of bricks that things could be Now More like: Potential partners and it is making him into Being------Shy and quiet. And he could be also feeling awkward, maybe even feeling foolish.
Without even pushing a button on his end to send a message, you having to initiate all the convos and invites, shows me he may like you to a point, but doesn't want a Commitment. And with the fly on the bar wall Ball, he may have grown cold duck feet and is scared that things got out of hand. He has backed off a bit.
For now, keep things light and semi sweet. Just be calm and cool. He may deny anything you ask him anyways, and with you both just going out and Painting the town less red, he may come out of his shell. Don't suggest any alone time unless he does. Try and work in getting things back to the Comfort zone.
Stay away from the bar scene for awhile. This may not be helping matters any. Maybe with a little less drinking, More good sense thinking Instead wouldn't hurt. Hopefully, things will resume as----Business as usual...

He might like you a lot. message me I'm researching psychology because when I go to college i wanna major in it. Think about it has anything major or minor happened between you two. He's probably made a realization about you.

The major thing I can think of is our flirting has gotten very intense and we have gotten touchey and joke and banter way more than we use to. I just noticed him starrring at me a lot and smiling when we are around each other.
