My crush and I stared into each other's eyes for 4 seconds?

So I looked up and he was there, leaving the room, but already looking at me. Our eyes met right away as I raised my head.
I was just like 'why isn't he turning away? This is awkward' and I didn't look away because I like him. I held his gaze for about 4 seconds and we both looked away.
Can this mean he might like me? I wouldn't stare at some random guy I don't like. I'd just look away. We rarely talk and he's really popular and I'm just normal. I'm doubtful because I never was sure whether he liked me or not

Popular like what? really popular? if he's like the king of his football team, maybe its not that good of a sign, do you know a lot about him? like is he an ass hole, a douche, did he had a lot of GF? if all the answers are no then maybe its a good sign

Oh no, he's part of the popular group but he's not like the most popular one. I don't know took much about him, he's never had a girlfriend but I see him with girls all the time. I hope its a good sign, I really do XP thanks for answering

Ha, you're right. If I happened to make eye contact with a guy I didn't like I would look away and if he kept staring, I would ask him why he's glaring at me. by the way it wasn't me that was staring at him this time. It was him and I just happened to stare back
