no one want's to be "the creep" and personally I think it's over used. IE: Some girls use it to describe a guy who's hitting on her that they aren't interested in. Though if the same guy was more her type she wouldn't even think of his actions as creepy.

There's a few options. Either she was actually joking and flirting with you, or she was being sarcastic about it, OR she really thought you were a creep and you questioned her about it and to save the drama, she said it was a joke.
