I'm supposed treat my crush like my brother?

Okay so I'm a Christian and I always talk to my friends about my crushes. It's really hard to flirt with guys in college because they're all so nice and it's hard to tell if they like you or not. We're all brothers and sisters in Christ. My friends always tell me to treat my crushes like they're my brothers but I don't know how to do that. How do you treat someone that you like like you're related and just siblings? It's kind of a hard concept to understand but that's why I'm asking.

Just ignore your friends, they give bad advice. Don't treat your crush like he's your brother, because that would be awkward and like incest. Treat your crush as he is, a boy you like. Flirt with him and try to get a feel if he likes you or not by gauging his reactions to things you do. Playfully touch him when he makes a joke. If he seems weirded out by your touch, he's probably not into you.
