Is being called attractive a compliment?

Hey guys, just wondering about different levels on how guys compliment on girls. I mean is there a difference between being called pretty, cute and attractive? I was called by girls pretty all the time and sometimes if I heard people told me I am attractive I felt like being a bit insulted. What do guys think? Is there a difference like a scale from 1-10?

I think men have to take care about what they call girls because of how their motives are read into. Callinga girl attractive is fairly neutral, it can easily mean he thinks she is hot and would love to... well, you know. It can also mean he thinks she is good looking but not necessarily into her, especially in a context of someone questioning that girl's romantic viability; he may be saying he thinks she has no problem getting a boyfriend, it just probably won't be him ("No, I think she is quite attractive, actually.").

No matter what shade of meaning you're going with though, its always a compliment.

I don't think there's a difference but personally I think being called hot or sexy is more objectifying
