Is ‘Prettyboy’ a compliment?

I think it’s usually a compliment but in my situation I’m not sure.

My boss was explaining to me what Labor Day benefits were.
I didn’t quite understand, I thought Labor Day was a holiday (Off day)

So she said

“Pretty boy over here doesn’t know what September 6th means”
When she was talking to my supervisor

She wasn’t being rude though, she said it in a playful manner

It’s a playful insult but not really a compliment because she is basically saying that you look effeminate but unless you’re sensitive it’s all fun and games and people that call you that still think you’re good looking. Girls that have liked me have called me a pretty boy 😂 so I guess you can say it’s a compliment and an insult

If demeaning in every instance. “Playful” tone doesn’t make it any better. It’s basically saying you are attractive but in a sarcastic way and it’s like you are just a pretty face but stupid - or overly absorbed in your looks. It’s a way to sort of put down a very good looking guy.

It depends on how it is used. But she did it to insult you. She thinks your just all looks and no brains, and that is very rude of her. The fact that your supervisor did nothing is a sign of a toxic work environment.
