How often should I text my crush?

So I have a crush on my one guy friend, but I've only been friends with him a few months. I have a feeling he likes me back but I'm not sure. Anyways, we text a decent amount, usually late at night when neither of us wants to sleep lol. And we SnapChat some. I usually start the convos, but he does sometimes too. He always seems to want to talk and keeps the convo going until I say I have to go to bed. My question is, how often should I text him if he doesn't text me first? I love our convos, but I don't wanna annoy him. Same with SnapChat. How often is too often? It's important now bc we're both gone for summer and I'm hoping we can become closer

If he's always texting you first, or at least more than you are, then go for it! As a guy, I really like it when a girl tries to put effort into the relationship and send texts, because that does not happen a lot. It can get annoying when a girl ALWAYS waits for you to text her, because you can't tell if she likes you texting her, or if she thinks your creepy for texting so much. If you really enjoy the conversations with him, text him right now! Good luck! Generally, if you have long conversation then he has some interest in you, because guys never really have long conversations over text

  The thing is he doesn't usually text first unless I've gone like a week without texting him, then he'll text me to make sure I'm ok. But when I do text him he answers like right away and we'll talk for a couple hours sometimes

  Ah, I would agree with Klaatu on him not texting first, but if he does text you to "check on you", then he does have interest. I wouldn't text a girl every week to make sure she was okay, unless I was romantically interested in her. If he is responding quickly, and the conversations last awhile, then I think it's safe to say that he likes you, including the fact that he checks to see if your okay.

Depends on the guy of course, but it's really great when the girl is willing to make the first move. Guys usually will text first, but if he's texting you till bedtime the chances are he likes you. Usually I'll end most conversations well before bedtime unless I really care, when I'll text back as long as the girl is awake.
