I forgot to mention that we met in person, but he's moving out of state, so we can't meet up.

If you’re asking how much you should initiate then I think there should be a healthy balance of you reaching out to each other. Neither party wants to feel like they’re doing all the work. If you’re talking about just keeping the conversation going in general, I think rather than so much texting and messaging you should be trying to hang out in person.


You wanna progress things to where you’re interactions are mainly in person and texting through the day is really only to check in. Hanging out is how you create memories and have things to talk about. When you aren’t spending time, then at some point you’ll find yourself looking for any sort of topic just to keep the conversation alive. You’re sending memes, videos, asking random stuff like what’s their favorite ramen. The connection eventually becomes exhausted and stagnant.

Can you just ask them on a date? That would save a lot of time and worry. They may answer yes or no, but either way that would clarify the situation for you.
