When first texting a crush how often should we text?

So I’ve developed a crush on this guy I met on an app. He is cute we’ve FaceTimed but he doesn’t text me consistently. It’s hours apart and I really want it know him more so we can get to the level of dating but I don’t know if he is interested at all because we don’t text as much during the day. There are other men i talk to who text more consistently but it’s rather just responding than a conversation. I don't know. How often should we be texting? I’m trying not to put too much on it because he works but I don't know I just don’t feel wanted. by the way it’s only be like 2 or 3 weeks we’ve been talking so I’m trying to make sure I’m not expecting too much
