Why delete someone's number?

I have been trying to figure out for a long time now why it is that guys will delete my phone number. They'll do it after a fight even though I never tried to contact them. Also, having my number in their phone wouldn't stop me from calling or texting them anyway! Same with Facebook; why delete me as a friend? I don't understand.

I personally only delete phone numbers out of fear of "drunk calling/texting" because I have a habit of doing it to my exes. And I would only delete a Facebook friend if they've been harassing. After evaluating my reasoning, there is no possible way that their reasoning for doing so would be the same.

The reasons are the same to keep me from drunk dialing or starting to chat one night if I was thinking of my ex. I've never done it after a fight but I guess maybe it's to stop them from calling you for a bit. I'd have to let someone else give their side on that one. Can't speak for Facebook, I rarely use it.

I always delete my ex's numbers. What the point of having it? I'm never going to talk to them again. It's just a ugly reminder of what was. Even when it was a good breakup, I still delete the number, but I don't unfriend them on fb

a lot of people are weird about those things. one ex texted me telling me he got my number from my friend, I asked him why he didn't still have it already and he said he deleted it because he was sad..
