Forgot to give me her number?

There's a cool girl I work with that I thought I'd like to get to know better, as a friend, so one day when we were working together I asked her for her phone number and if I could text her sometime. She told me sure, and that she would give it to me after her shift.

When she got off, I think she forgot and just left.

I asked her again next time I saw her and she said she would give it to me when she went on break. But she forgot again.

I decided to just let it go for now, and maybe ask again later. But could this mean she doesn't want to give me her number? Or is it just a matter of forgetting?

She called me today, I'm guessing she got my number from Facebook, asking if we could trade shifts one day. Does it mean anything that she called me? Is it OK to text her since I have her number from her call? Or should I ask one last time for her #?

It's hard to tell which one it is, but to make it fool-proof, take a piece of paper and a pen with you next time you ask her and say, "Could you write down your number for me? It seems we keep forgetting to exchange," and hand her your number as well. If she makes up some excuse about being busy and she'll give it to you later, then you know that she isn't interested. If she exchanges numbers with you, you're in business. :)

She didn't forget she just doesn't want you to have her number, if she really wanted you to have it she would've given it to you right away or after she "forgot" the first time have apologized and given it to you then

she could be really busy. I would be patient and if she says that again, then move on.

she might be really forgetful, but id say its more likely that she doesn't want to give you her digits.
