Is flirting a personality trait?

Do you know any flirts that don't notice when they're flirting? It's just how they initiate conversation or act normally? Do you really have to try to be a flirt or does it come naturally? I don't know how better to ask this question. But I've been called a flirt for a while and never could find out why friends would call me a flirt. I've been this way since high school, just outgoing and cheery.

Some people are flirty by nature, but just because that is how they interact does not mean they are interested. They are that way because they are comfortable and open and cheery. People will often confuse your kindness and outgoing-ness as flirting, but don't let it stop you from being who you are. I once thought a girl liked me because she was brushing my arms and bumping into me while talking. Then I saw her interacting with others (guys and girls) and saw that that is how she communicates.

I have had girls try to talk to me because of the way I acted around them but had to explain that I treat everyone this way. Lol, it is awkward. You're pretty observant to have realized it before confronting her. Thanks for your input.

i'm very good at flirting online and via text and for friends, but not so good in person... but I can't really help it when I'm talking online or on the phonee :]

i think with me its a confidence thing too. when I can't see your face I have no idea how're your reacting so I think its easier to say it.

that said, I have never had a problem flirting. its always just come very naturally to me. but that must not always be the case since my friends are always asking me for helpp

i am a flirt who doesn't know it at times. for me its natural..ive been told for years that I am a flirt and I've tried to help it but like you I am just an outgoing and cheery person

i think its a personality trait . some times people tell me y I flirt and I get confused because I don't mean to flirt lol. but I think being outgoing and cheery is great!
