Do you hug your bro/sis? how often?

Do you you hug your siblings? I noticed some families are way closer than other and just wanted to know what you think.

In my family, we kiss eacother on the cheek as a greeting, which is normal in some cultures, so I only kiss my sisters on the cheek, but not much of the hugging. I usually hug my sisters when I haven't seen them in a while or if there's special occations like birthdays or job promotions. I do hug my brother in law every time I see him, I guess out of respect for him and I really like him for my sister, I hope they get married (:

My younger sister is 13, and I honestly can't remember the last time we hugged. Don't get me wrong, we're super close, we spend a ton of time together. Just the thought of hugging my sister seems so bizarre, we're not really "sentimental" people, especially not with each other haha. I hg my brother pretty often though, he's 8 though.

Not very often I grew up in a family that did not display affection and for that reason I hug and kiss my son everyday and tell him that I love him.

I give my brother a slap on the back. I hug just about everyone else in the family. If it's men, firm hand shake.
