I blush really easily, and from things that aren't even blush-worthy :(

I feel like it makes me look over eager and really desperate or something, and guys always notice and tease me about it, either thinking I'm into them when I'm not, or else saying "aww, it's so cute" in a really patronising voice.

I used to think the cute comment was them flirting a bit, but it seems more like cute in the way you'd call a puppy or something cute, not a potential girlfriend.

Is it a complete turn off if a girl blushes a lot? Or is it just something that puts her in the friend category, because she seems "cute".

If you are blushing then it's blush worthy. I had an NCO early in my career who blushed over the tiniest of things. But believe me we never thought less. It's involuntary. It's not even embarrassment or anything. Try not to let an involuntary action bother you. Breathing, heart beat, blinking, stomach grumbling, etc are all involuntary and you don't let that bother you. So relax, forget the people who are inconsiderate, and just be you. Because you are special in your own way, blushing included. :)
