Ok I think a little bit of an update is required.
Me & my boyfriend have been together for about a year, no problems until this girl sent me screen shots of these messages (this one isn't bad to compared to the other ones he had sent her) I asked him about it & he considers it not cheating but I need another opinion because I don't want to go through the emotional hurt again. So long story short: is it cheating or am I overreacting?

Hmmmm... sounds like the beginning or middle of emotional cheating which can and usually does lead to physical and/or sexual cheating.

Personally, I tolerate no disrespect like that from a man. I'm really just not for the sneaky, shady nonsense. If he wants to be a flirt and talk to other girls then fine; he can do it without me in his life. That's my policy and it keeps my heart happy and my mind healthy! But some women are willing to confront their boyfie's about stuff like this, set clear boundaries, and hope for a better future... and sometimes it actually works out well for them.

Whether it's cheating or not is relative.
I think it is and you should 100% leave him.
The fact that he said "I shouldn't say that" proves that he knows it's wrong but texts her anyway.
The kind of guy who does this is the same kind of guy who is fine with being physical with other people.
I know this from experience both with ex boyfriends and friends.
He is not loyal to you and you deserve better. Breaking up f*ing sucks but in the long run you are SO much better off.
Please save yourself more pain and leave him. I've made the mistake of staying before.

Calling another girl cute isn't really considered typically cheating, but if you feel cheated and wronged by this behavior, it doesn't matter if it's technically or not. Your feelings are valid, and if you feel that this incident had given you enough grievances to reconsider your relationship, that is extremely important.

What is the current situation exactly? Since I am unaware really on any of the factors that are in play or just the scene set with your relathsip, I don't want to really give further input on matters I do not know enough to be fully helpful in.

Honestly, you aren't overreacting, because he did break your trust; you are in a relationship with someone who you expect to be faithful to you, being only interested in you. They not only showed how they do have an attraction to someone else, but they had acted on this by texting this person then flirting with them. You have a perfect reason to be upset at his behavior.

The thing about saying to another girl that she's cute is definitely cheating. It shows he is interested in other girls. For the rest it's called flirting in my book. I imagine the next line would be something like "would you be willing to wash my back in the shower?"

Besides, why was that girl sending those screenshots? Because she senses something is wrong.
Just talk about it with him and tell him how it makes you feel. Dont end it just yet, people do make mistakes sometimes you know.

Seems more like just a compliment to me. i call girls cute, or having a nice smile, or liking their clothes, my girl does the same to male friends of hers

Emotional cheating. I think the point is, if you feel like it is crossing a line, then say so. If he isn't prepared to accept that you feel that way and stop it, then he doesn't really care about you, and if I were you I would walk away.
