I'm afraid my uncle is flirting with me... am I right?

So I'm 24 and I recently fell on hard times after the loss of my mother at 21 and I had no real choice than to move in with my alcoholic father I haven't seen since I was 9.

My uncle keeps coming over to visit. He's drinks as well but overall seems like a very friendly and nice man. Yet tonight I don't know he kinda set off alarm bells but I'm not sure if I'm misreading the situation and I want to make sure I'm not before I say anything because of the situation I'm in.

I decided to to stay in my room this time because when I'm out there they seem to get into arguments over me. Like my uncle trying to one up my dad in letting me drive his car when my dad won't or whatever. So tonight he yelled for me to come out and visit with him. So I did. He brought up maybe taking me to the states with him on his next trip for a week and I said I would think about it. Then he brought up my make up wasn't in the bathroom anymore and I said well I keep it in my room like dad wants and he said oh well your a pretty girl and I wish you would wear some make up sometimes. I just kinda laughed it off. Then he kept hitting me in the shoulder or touching my shoulders as he walked by. Told me to come visit grandma sometimes who he lives with and kept offering me a beer. I don't know maybe I'm overreacting but it made me a little uncomfortable. My dad was sitting there and it didn't seem to bother him.

What at do you guys think? Was I overreacting?

Sounds super sketch to me. I was uncomfortable reading this so I don't blame you. I'm going to respond as the paranoid girl just in case this is how you're feeling.
Don't take him up on any offers to go anywhere with him. And if he ever asks, say you are seeing someone and you're happy with him etc. That's how you indirectly make it clear for him to stay away. If he ever gets physical or makes you feel out of control of the situation at all, have a plan to GET OUT and go to a friend's or a safe place for a while. Whatever you do DO NOT DRINK AROUND HIM. The last thing you need is to be out of control and not be able to fight back. (This is all just in case, seeing this as the worst possible situation)

In the mean time, look for other housing options, with friends, renting out a room in someone's house, anything that will make you feel like yourself again. Nothing is worse than not having a safe place to go home to at the end of the day :(

Usually when you get a gut feeling you should go with it (that's what i do in spelling tests lol)
If you feel that something ain't right, prepare to move out. Things like this have happened to others before
It's good that yu have picked up something now in case something else happens
Prepare to leave just in case. Tell a friend what u feel and ask them to be on stand by.
Judging from the background story of you r family, it may not be entirely safe. So make sure you are ready for anything.

I think at least for now he isn't Flirting with you. But if you feel uncomfortable then stay away from him... Just ignore or say no if he keeps on asking your for things...

Because I gave up my career to look after my terminally I'll mother like I had been doing since I was 9 years old and I couldn't financially recover to live on my own and he's the only family I really have that could take me in.

You're uncomfortable. I recommend trying to find a small room to rent so you don't have see either men regularly. You just never know who will take advantage of you. Hope everything works out!
