Honestly, why ask why? Not trying to be rude, but why question real affection you receive from the one you love, and by your own admission enjoy? I suggest that you save your questions for when he does something you don't like. Most women complain that there guy doesn't show them that kind of affection, so relax and enjoy. Also, consider yourself lucky. Obviously he thinks enough about you that he wants to show you affection, and that's a good thing for you! Whatever you do I hope you return the gesture.

I'm not quiet sure there is even an real answer for this question. What do you mean, "...what is he thinking about when he does it?" You mean, at that particular instance or the variation of the two. I'm saying, there really isn't a logically answer for your question. He's obviously trying to make you feel good, and by you stating, "it makes me feel really good..." then I'll say he's doing his job.

why are humans always having a need to touch baby kitten or puppies? we are human, he have a sense of touch, and there are sensations that give us pleasure when we touch certain things.
