How can you tell if a girl is desperate?

people always say how guys veer away from a girl who is love lorn and desperate. my question is, how can they tell? as someone who wants to be in a relationship, I don't want my intentions to become the reason guys don't approach me. how do I behave so that I do not give off the desperate vibe while keeping my eyes open for guys that come by?

Needy and clingy are two characteristics I have picked up on that will send me running faster than anything. if a girl needs to talk to me every single day, or has to call every other hour or calls 23 times in one day that's definitely not for me, I don't need to nor will I "check in" I am a big boy and can function for myself. By being needy and clingy shows me much more about her that she is insecure for some reason and needs attention and validation, reassurance. That's also like if a girl asks do I look fat, am I pretty, that's a game I won't play but that's a whole other issue.

Be comfortable and confident in who you are and what your about. You don't need attention from every guy you see or walks by or feels compelled to talk to you. Most guys don't approach for a variety of reasons it will happen, but you know what you can approach guys as well its a two way street but don't come off pushy in doing so either, if he isn't interested or can tell he isn't interested part ways and continue about your business.

Its funny how most people BOTH male and female think that if someone doesn't want to talk to them or is interested in them that its the end of the world, a be all end all because one single person isn't interested in you. You can take what you learned from that situation/person and grow as a person and move and grow.

And in all seriousness Why are you so hungry for guys attention anyways? do you come off needing to talk to every guy you see looking for validation and reassurance? Do you hate being single and dying for a boyfriend ? What is it?

It's better to just be yourself. If you try and put up an act to attract guys, you will eventually slip up. Guys can see when you are faking it. You may be able to fool some of us for a little bit, but then your true colors will come out and you will get dumped. You may feel lead on by some guys because it took them a little to figure you out, you may get a few dates out of some guys and then get dropped for no reason, you may get to sex with some guys and then dropped and think all guys are jerks and they just want to get in your pants, but the fact is you are the one playing actress. You can't keep it up forever and if a guy does not like who you really are, you will never get a serious relationship out of him.

Desperate? easy, the girl nearly throws herself at ever guy she sees, acts like a slut, etc. Bats eyelashes, trys to act all cute to any guy who happens to be around, etc. Trust me I hang out with guys sometimes, they hate it when girls do that. You don't want to come off as desperate, guys usually don't like that at all.

But see, here's the thing, the girls I have known who indulge in such behavior, throwing themselves at every guy they see, flirting with them, being all cutesy have been extremely successful in garnering the attention they seek. guys seem to it all that sh*t up

They do? I've never known guys to avoid girls who are lonely. I think that because it's a turnoff for women when men are desperate that they would naturally conclude that the converse is true and I firmly believe that not to be the case. Male attraction is not based so much on your actions and vibes that you give off as it is by your body itself and just you in general as a person.

While I'll admit that coming on to strong kind of turns people off socially as long as you're not totally overbearing I don't see this being a hindrance to your romantic life. As a guy, I think people in general are just so afraid to express themselves to another person that we've ruined our chances at hundreds of relationships because we hid our desires and I personally like it when women wear their hearts on their sleeves. I actually encourage women to be MORE flirtatious if anything. For me, women playing it cool and acting aloof has caused me far more pain than women who were forward and bold.

Ask yourself what makes you think a guy is desperate for you? what does he do? ... well its very similar. If you keep on texting or calling him ... or keep looking out for him and your face changes when you see him ... basically if you chase someone he will figure it out ... so yes keep yourself occupied ... doesn't mean you have to flirt left right center with all guys but don't make the one you like your everything
