Are feelings usually mutual?

Whenever I hug this guy I feel emotionally connected to him I think... like it just feels really nice and I don't wanna let go. I think he used to like me but i don't know if he still does since we lost touch. I do remember months ago I put my head on his shoulder while we were on the bus (it took me forever to get the courage to do that) and later that night he texted me saying it felt nice and he wanted to stay there all day... that was months ago though so if I felt something while hugging him now is it likely he did too? are guys even affected by hugs?

Unless he knows the connection that comes with the head on the shoulder it could vary easily go over his head. The biggest issue I can think of, is that he is satisfied with this level of affection no effort and no risk but sooner or later you're going to give up and both people get hurt and lost and missed opportunity.

That's why words are more powerful here. Do you want to lose another day of the possibility of being together. Yours I can make things better but you both have to want it and both have to try.

Yeah, whenever my girlfriend hugs me I feel better. I mean, I can't speak for everyone, but I like hugs. Sometimes the hug even progresses, which is even better. ;)

Oh yes is that even a question. Hugging the girl/women you like/love is an emotional need. Should be the best feeling ever!
