Guys, guy that has girlfriend keeps staring back at me and holds my gaze? what does it mean?

So there is this cute guy that i work with, he is just my type and i can't help staring at him when i see him.
He is shy and not the guy who start conversations and also he has a girlfriend.
but everytime i look at him he looks back at me and we lock eyes for longer than normal, we just stare into each others eyes lol.
this happens all the time and i have also cought him staring at me and turning away quickly a lot of times.
the whole "staring and turning away fast" part always happens when i don't pay attention to him and when im busy doing something else.

As a guy what do you think is going through this guys mind?

Well, at this point it may be a case of finding interest in another girl. If he has interest in you it matters not if he's done anything with you, rather, in his heart he's already been unfaithful to his girlfriend.

Through his mind he could very well be seeking interest in you. Whether it be interest in you based on looks, desire (that isn't based on normal interest), etc. That may essentially be what is going on. Otherwise it's just a set of coincidences that are leading to this but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Well he never makes a move or anything but he never avoids me, he always looks at me.
But what does it mean that i catch him looking at me and turning away fast? cause it happens all the time so i feel like it's not a councidence?

This means he's looking at you, but he doesn't want to be seen looking at you by him. Meaning, he could have something to hide. Interests or feelings for you, or something else.

it's because your staring at him. He's probably wondering why, and your mistaking his wonder for interest; your basically baiting him to stare at you. Or he's not happy with his girlfriend and notices you keep staring at him and is thinking he wouldn't mind having an affair with you. Or he's interested and is thinking about ditching his current girlfriend, leaving her with a broken heart and you with a big smile on your face!

but if he has no interest in me and only keeps looking because i do would he then really care to keep looking back at me for almost a year? and look at me when im not even looking at him?

Look at the other possibilities I suggested in my comment. I believe I given every general possibility: 1. no interest 2. wants to have an affair 3. wants to leave his girl for you, but doesn't know how to go about it. You can simply ask him to rid yourself from guessing: "Hey [insert name here], I notice you stare at me a lot [say something funny, light, and not overly firtatous]." Then you'll have a better estimate of his interest, but you can't be flatout because he is a coworker (right?) and that may not go down to well.

i know all the possibilities, and yes it's complicated because he is my coworker.
but im just asking what you think is most likely, considering that he has been staring back at me for almost a year?

He finds something interesting about you. It could be anything, but it's something.

No, he doesn't think you look weird. He wouldn't stare back for that long trust me and would show signs of discomfort when you stare at him. I'd say leave him alone though, unless you want to go down a messy road. He's unavaible unless he's willing to make the first move... and still...

i know... it's just not that easy because i see him everyday and even if i don't look at him i catch him staring at me anyways.. and i get so frustrated about the whole situation.
It's like he wants something from me but he never says anything.

id say leave it alone and let him stare. I tried to think ways you could go up to him and ask him why he stares and what he wants but it all seems to lead to a place that would make the situation even more stressful. If he were single, then it would be so easy for you to start hanging out just by asking him why he stares... you see my point?

It's because your attracted to him... how about you make a list of the qualities you like about him and try to find them in another guy by putting yourself in places were those types of guys are? I know finding a person with similar qualities that's available is easier said than done (I'm in a similar situation with this girl), but you gotta know there out there and it's just illogical to attempt anything with this guy at the moment.

He's checking you out and seeing if he left the supermarket with the wrong fruit. Your an apple she's an orange. Its possible their relationship is stagnating and he's looking for someone else when it falls through. He also could be sizing you up compared to his girlfriend or trying to make her jealous if she's nearby. I'd need more data to make a more accurate observation and draw a conclusion.

his girlfriend is not around, and i don't know anything about his relationship. i only know that they live together.

But it's so sensitive to start any sort of 'warm' conversation at work with people listening, and all the gossip that would start.

Nothing is 'happening' between you and he's interested, even if too shy or intimidated. This commonly happens at work. Happened to me as well. Girlfriend or no, he probably waits every day to see what you are wearing!

lol well i wish he would come up and talk to me, i have talked to him a few times about work but he is very shy. the weird thing is that i feel like i know him because of all the eye contact lol

If I were you, honestly! I would slip him a note, giving him the address of a coffee place a few hundred meters from work, where you would likely not be seen, and ask him to meet you there well after work when people would likely have gone home. well that's curiosity... I also have a girlfriend but there's this on girl in my class who so attractive I can't keep my eyes off her. We've only talked twice in 3 years. Still we do eye contact daily A lot of times. Well it's natural and it's mere curiosity or a little crush. You just see them , don't go near them or talk to them most of the time. :D

Well im just really confused about this whole thing, yes i mean the way he looks at me is like he wants me but i just find it weird that he has not tried anything. we have talked a few times about work but nothing more than that, and i feel like he had his chance too say something but he didn't...
