The same guy texted me "accidentally" twice.
The first was on his birthday. I texted him happy birthday and he wrote "thanks babe, I hope we'll be spending time together more than ever. I love you <3" I didn't write back, then he wrote the next day "OMG im so sorry, I was writing to my girlfriend. I accidentally sent it to you!" Ummmmm did you not see my name on top of your screen?
The second time was when he texted me asking "Babe do you like this?" with a picture of a t shirt.
I wrote back "lol wrong person again" then he said "oh shit sorry!"

YES! I have accidentally text the wrong girl! The main girl I was texting was someone I met on Tinder. What happened was in the middle of the day I was meeting up with a female co-worker for a meeting with a client. So I text'd her something like "Hey (Girl's name), I should be there in 5 minutes..."

Then she got super jealous... and ghosted me...

Oh and for the record. When I realized my mistake and tried to apologize I asked her how her kid was based on one of the pics on her profile. She got offended because she didn't have a kid. Just the whole thing was a trainwreck... then she saw me like a month later in the grocery store in person. We then went on a couple dates...

I've accidentally texted the wrong girl, but it was 2 friends both texting at the same time. one friend was telling me about a tough day and the other was telling me about her good day. I accidently sent my reply, meant for the happy girl, to the sad girl and she said "wtf" and called me an asshole. took 2 hours for her to believe me that it was an accident and the message was meant for someone else.

I've had a guy use the "accidental text" as a way to strike up a conversation with me. Happened on two occasions because his coworker had a similiar name as mine.

The first time might have been an accident, the second time not so much. He could be trying to get your attention, although if he's portraying as having a girlfriend - I wouldn't even entertain him. It could have been a coincidence, especially if the names are similiar or if you text frequently, your name could always be at the top of his recent chats. If its not a coincidence, it's a douchey move of trying to get your attention.

I'm not a guy, but I do this all the time. Happens especially when texting two people at the same time, or sometimes just click on the wrong convo. It happens a lot.

It can happen, I've done it before. But it doesn't happen often, and when you've done it once you're probably paranoid about it happening again. Either he's incredibly careless, or it's not an accident.

I've sent texts to the wrong girl a few times because I was texting (hitting on) a few around the same time.
Sometimes I just open Messages and immediately type out a reply without looking at who I'm sending it to.
