What do you do after you make out with a friend?

My best guy friend and I were watching movies and I was being extra flirty with him (because I started to like him more than a friend). Then we started to make out and some other things (he made the first move for kissing). We watch movies all the time and flirt often, but this is the first time this has happened. He told me a couple weeks ago that he liked one of our best friends. So now he is confused and I am giving him time to think about it. We agreed to either forget it ever happened (if we stay friends) or to take it slowly and move to dating. I don't want to be a rebound girl and I told him this. So we are kinda seeing what happens. But What I need to know is why he did made the move in the first place if he like our other best friend? I am afraid to ask him this because I feel it would be too awkward right now. Am I doing the right thing by letting him think? Am I just a rebound?

P.S. We have been best friends for about 3 years now, and I don't want to lose him because of this. What should I do in order to make it less awkward between us right now?

Also our best friend doesn't like him as more than a friend and hasn't told him yet. I know this will affect us in some way until she tells him. She just doesn't want to upset him, but I keep telling her she needs to talk to him, not to avoid it.

Also after the incident happened I was the one who needed space and needed to think about everything, but he called me the day after does that mean anything? Also he has been calling me wanting to talk most of the time since this has happened.

this is why so many people think that straight guys and straight girls can never be best friends. now that you've crossed the line, I think its time for you to make a solid decision. either take the risk and begin dating, or let your friendship die down a little. seeing each other too often or being in constant contact without having sensual contact or communication only builds up sexual tension and isn't good for the friendship. seeing as he already likes another best friend, I think you should probably back off. after all, if the other best friend likes him too, a love triangle drama is going to destroy the friendship between the 3 of you. for now, I would back off if I were you since as you say, you don't know if you are just a rebound. after all, if you are, it would hurt that much more right?

I know for a fact that our other best friend doesn't feel the same but has been avoiding to say anything. I don't know if this will effect us.

this happened to two friends of mine. The guy said that it just kind of happened and he didn't know why. He said he thought he liked the girl a little bit. He may have just been "in the mood" and didn't really think it through to an emotional level. My two friends were going to consider taking it reaallly slow and maybe start dating, but they decided to just stay friends and it's working out pretty well.

yes, I think you should let him think a little bit. but at the same time, if you are curious about some stuff, you should ask...i wouldn't think of it as a rebound, but he is jus having mixed feelings for you and the other person. but if you are curious about y he did it, then ask...even if it seems awkward. you never kno, it might clear up sum stuff, if not all of it.

let him figure it out it is beyond you just be patient you can't rush in this stage because he will be sure about you and you will be just rebound be secure let him come to you it will be worth it
